When: Saturday, September, 3rd at 10:30 am
Where: Snapdragon Stadium, 9449 Friars Rd, San Diego, CA 92108
This Saturday, Sept 3rd is the opening of the our new Snapdragon football stadium in San Diego, capacity 35,000 people, former Qualcomm Stadium. There will be a home game for the SDSU Aztec team against Arizona. Aztec colors represent the flag of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army who fought for the Ukrainian Independence and continues to be a symbol of the Ukrainian bloody fight against Russian occupation. The colors of the flag symbolize red Ukrainian blood spilled on the black Ukrainian earth. It’s very symbolic for us Ukrainians and a great opportunity to remind thousands of San Diegans and visitors that the war in Ukraine is not over and Russia is continuing to destroy Ukraine and is committing countless war crimes against the Ukrainians. Let’s share with as many people as we can, that Europe might be on the brink of nuclear disaster at Zaporizhya plant, and we have to continue to support Ukraine as much as possible to win this war.
We will meet at 10:30 am by the Stadium Trolley Station on the Green Line (9449 Friars Road).
Trolley/bus or taxi/Uber/Lyft might be your best bet to get to the event. Don’t count on parking in the area. They will run trains every 7.5 minutes on this day. Here is info on how to ride a trolley there.
The game starts at 12:30 pm, so we will meet at 10:30, rally by the station while everyone gathers and walk through the parking lots chanting and making ourselves known until the fans go inside the stadium. Make sure you are there by 11 am, otherwise it might be hard to find us. Bring posters and flags. Keep in mind, there will be a lot of walking involved, so if you’d rather just go to the 4 pm rally in Balboa park that’s great too.
