Russian Shame-Protest Against the Rape of Women in Ukraine (05/28/2022)

Saturday, May 28th at 1pm: Russian Shame-Protest Against the Rape of Women in Ukraine
Location: Balboa Park
Address: 1450 El Prado, San Diego, CA 92101
Bring: Signs, flags, Ukrainian shirts, etc.

Join Our Worldwide Protest Against Sexual Violence Towards Women and children. Rape has been widely used as a Weapon of War in Ukraine. This protest will take place on the same day in other cities in the US and around the world.

On May 28th, we will stand with and empathize with Ukrainian women and children who have become the victims of torture and rape by the Russian soldiers. This protest originated in Latvia and Estonia by brave women who stood partially naked in front of the Russian Embassy, with their hands tied behind their backs, white shirts smeared in red paint, and flower reefs on their heads. Let this visual be an inspiration to you. We encourage everyone to find some old white clothes they don’t mind covering in red paint for this event or use washable paint. A good visual speaks louder than a thousand words.

This is your chance to stand up for the women and children of Ukraine who have been violated. This is your opportunity to give them a voice.

If you don’t want your children to attend we will have a child watch set up through the Ukrainian School at the Hall of Nations.

If you are a man: please come and support us, bring signs, Ukrainian and American flags (or your country flags if you are not American), Ukrainian embroidered or themed shirts, or wear Ukrainian colors.

If you are a woman: try to dress in white or very light clothing, if possible paint “blood” stains on them (you can use washable paint) and  wear a flower reef if you have one.

BE THEIR VOICE, BE THEIR FIGHT!
