Ivana Kupala (06/21/2019)

When: Friday June 21, 2019 from 6PM to 11:30PM
Where: Ski Beach, 1600 Vacation Road, San Diego, CA 92109

Come celebrate with us the ancient pre-Christian holiday of Kupalo – an old holiday of the Ukrainian people, which came from matriarchy Trypillya. The holiday falls on the day of the summer solstice around the night of 20-22 June. This year, the summer solstice falls on the 21 st, so we would like to get together this coming Friday. Eventually, after the adoption of Christianity, the holiday of Kupala merged with the Christina holiday – the birth of John the Baptist.

We propose to make a potluck, to sing and to dance by the bon fire, to play games, to make wreaths and release them on the water … Bring a dish and drinks to share and if you have wild flowers around your houses, bring some to share as well.

It might be chili at night, so dress accordingly.
