We invite you to join us for an intimate evening with Halyna Kruk, a Ukrainian writer, translator, researcher, and the recipient of many literary awards, namely the Bohdan Ihor Antonych Prize and the Kovaliv Foundation Prize for Prose. In 2024, her poetry book “A Crash Course in Molotov Cocktails” translated by Amelia M. Glaser and Yulia Ilchuk was shortlisted for the prestigious Canadian Griffin Poetry Prize.
Halyna Kruk is the author of five books of poetry, a collection of short stories, and four children’s books. Her works have been translated into more than 20 languages.
At the event at the House of Ukraine, Halyna will read her poems in Ukrainian, and UC San Diego Professor of Literature Amelia Glaser will read the English translations.
This meeting with Halyna Kruk is part of the “Verses from the War” series of fall readings with Ukrainian writers.
Event language: bilingual – Ukrainian and English.
