House of Ukraine and supporters have been invited to participate in St. Patrick’s Parade this year again. This march will replace our traditional 2 pm rally in Balboa Park on the 11th. We will have a Corvette with our HOU Princess, and we are allowed to carry our large flag behind the corvette. If we have enough people we could carry some of the images of the 365 days of the war and other signs as well. If there is a good opportunity we could bust out our Flash Mob Chervona Kalyna as well. So, please, wear either yellow top or vyshyvanka.
The parade will step off at 10:30 a.m. on Fifth Avenue at Laurel Street and the festival will run from 9 am – 6 pm. Here is info about the parade route http://www.stpatsparade.org/parade-location-route.html
This is a very big event for San Diego that celebrates Irish heritage and community in the United States and is very well attended. You may ask, what is House of Ukraine doing in this parade? The answer it two fold. First of all, Irish really understand what Ukraine is going through by fighting for its freedom and independence from its aggressive and oppressive neighbor, and secondly, this is a great opportunity to be seen by thousands and remind them that US needs to continue supporting Ukraine, and that the war is not over. We are marching for freedom and independence of Ukraine, and hope many of you will join us even though you will need to be there ideally as close to 9:30 am as possible.
Please, rsvp here if you are coming and can help with the flag and signs. Here is information about shuttles and trolley and parking http://www.stpatsparade.org/parking–shuttle-routes.html
