Join us for a special event to commemorate the Holodomor, a devastating famine-genocide in Ukraine during the 1930s. This in person event will be held at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in Los Angeles, California, USA. We invite you to gather with us as we remember the millions who lost their lives and honor their memory.
Keynote Speakers:
Victoria MaIko, PhD, California State University, Fresno – “The Holodomor as Genocide in Light of the U.N. Convention”
Mayhill Fowler, PhD, Stetson University, Deland, FL – “Against Empire: Ukrainian Theatrical Resistance, 19th-21st Centuries”
There will be bus service from the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church, St Volodymyr Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Los Angeles, and the Ukrainian Culture Center taking people to the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels. If you choose to drive yourself, please be aware that parking at the Cathedral will not be validated.
