Since mid-January 2022, we have gathered every weekend at Balboa Park, uniting as supporters of Ukraine in our call for the world to Stand With Ukraine against Russian aggression. Following the full-scale invasion, we made a promise to ourselves and our community: to continue these rallies every weekend until Ukraine is free and peaceful once more.
This Sunday to mark the 4th anniversary our rally will feature special speakers, and various community performers, including dance team Ukrainian Awareness Rally marks not just the ongoing struggle but also honors the courage and resilience of those who have sacrificed everything for Ukraine’s freedom. It celebrates the unwavering spirit of the Ukrainian people.
Russia’s war on Ukraine is the largest conflict in Europe since World War II, is a genocide on Ukrainian people: Russian soldiers have committed numerous war crimes, and destroying civilian infrastructure. Currently with daily strikes on the Ukrainian energy grid, millions have been left without electricity, heat and in some cases even water. This past month Ukraine is experience the most severe winter weather in many years, people are literally freezing to death in their apartments. In spite of all this, Ukraine remains resolute and continues standing strong against Russian aggression.
Our rally serves as a powerful call to action—a reminder that the fight for Ukraine’s freedom is far from over. Join us as we stand together, affirm our belief in Ukraine, and ensure its struggle remains in the global spotlight.
